Men's squash: the good just keep getting better

|

The men's squash team marched into Ithaca this past weekend to face Cornell and Rochester in a double-header that could've put the brakes on the Big Green's unprecedented hot streak. However, in yet another exhibition of Dartmouth domination, the men dropped both opponents in convincing style. Boosting their record to 7-0, the men's squash team defeated Cornell 9-0 in a perfect match, and then Rochester 8-1. "We're working our way to the top of the heap of collegiate teams, one team at a time." commented Beau River '00. Co-Captain Russell Echlov '97 showed Cornell's Patrick Kempe how it's done, taking the match in three, 15-3, 15-12, 15-13. Echlov's success continued on into the next match as he beat Rochester's No.

Ski teams combine for fourth at UNH Carnival

|

The Dartmouth nordic teams kicked off their collegiate carnival circuit this weekend with signs of good things to come. Several individual skiers had superb results and though the cross-country teams couldn't quite hold on to the second place position that the alpine teams earned last weekend, they finished a very respectable third behind the University of Vermont and the University of New Hampshire. Friday, the University of New Hampshire hosted two races at the Jackson Ski Touring center to complete the carnival that began with alpine races at Attitash Mountain last weekend. Abi Holt '99 and Jessica Smith '99 led the charge for the Big Green women.

Don't Believe the Hype

The end is near. Only one more week to hype up, over-analyze and wait for the Super Bowl. Some twenty weeks of preparation have boiled down to one single game.

Nowhere to workout

Finally. The Student Assembly's action last Tuesday to support funding of the Kresge Weight room was a sensible decision to address a subject that has been on the minds of students for several months now. The $8,500 will be a start for the many additions and repairs the weight room needs, but it is time the administration responds to the Assembly's challenge to match and better that donation.

Squash teams bagel Bowdoin Polar Bears

|

Bowdoin rolled into Hanover yesterday, hoping to tarnish Dartmouth's 4-0 record. But when it came time to play, Bowdoin was caught off guard and couldn't handle the Big Green's firepower. Like the four opponents before them, Bowdoin was left biting the dust, without even winning a single match.
