The men's squash team marched into Ithaca this past weekend to face Cornell and Rochester in a double-header that could've put the brakes on the Big Green's unprecedented hot streak. However, in yet another exhibition of Dartmouth domination, the men dropped both opponents in convincing style. Boosting their record to 7-0, the men's squash team defeated Cornell 9-0 in a perfect match, and then Rochester 8-1. "We're working our way to the top of the heap of collegiate teams, one team at a time." commented Beau River '00. Co-Captain Russell Echlov '97 showed Cornell's Patrick Kempe how it's done, taking the match in three, 15-3, 15-12, 15-13. Echlov's success continued on into the next match as he beat Rochester's No.
The Dartmouth nordic teams kicked off their collegiate carnival circuit this weekend with signs of good things to come. Several individual skiers had superb results and though the cross-country teams couldn't quite hold on to the second place position that the alpine teams earned last weekend, they finished a very respectable third behind the University of Vermont and the University of New Hampshire. Friday, the University of New Hampshire hosted two races at the Jackson Ski Touring center to complete the carnival that began with alpine races at Attitash Mountain last weekend. Abi Holt '99 and Jessica Smith '99 led the charge for the Big Green women.

The Big Green's track and field teams smashed through their opposition this weekend with the men's team snagging the Challenge Team Cup in Boston while at home the women's team won the consolation division of the New England Challenge Cup. Dartmouth men's track team defeated seven other schools on Friday on their way to victory.

Finally. The Student Assembly's action last Tuesday to support funding of the Kresge Weight room was a sensible decision to address a subject that has been on the minds of students for several months now. The $8,500 will be a start for the many additions and repairs the weight room needs, but it is time the administration responds to the Assembly's challenge to match and better that donation.

Sally Annis '97 has been dazzling the hardcourts ever since she was a freshman at the College. Last week the evidence was all in the numbers as the the senior guard sank her 1000th career point in the Big Green's 66-64 overtime win over the Columbia Lions. Over the weekend, Annis notched 25 points, 8 rebounds, 6 assists and 1 steal. In last night's match against the Siena Saints, Annis continued to impress the crowds with 8 points, 8 rebounds, 4 assist and 4 steals.

The Dartmouth women's hockey team came back from a disappointing 4-3 loss to Princeton on Saturday to capture a 7-0 shutout over Yale on Sunday. The split weekend moved Dartmouth to 7-6 overall and 2-2 in the Ivy League. The Big Green overwhelmed their hosts on Sunday, outshooting the Elis 85-11.
