The Dartmouth

Over the weekend

Men's Squash: The Big Green continued its strong play Saturday blanking Cornell 9-0, in an Ivy League Match before downing Rochester, 8-1. The wins moved Dartmouth to 7-0, its best start in school history.

At No. 1, freshman phenom Beau River topped Cornell's Andreas Lofquist in straight sets before losing to Rochester's Ben-Ari Elias, 15-5, 15-13, 15-5.

Women's Squash: The Big Green kept pace with its male counterparts defeating Cornell, 9-0 Saturday.

A pair of Dartmouth players had an easy time of it. Junior Heather Duckworth, playing at No. 2 for the Big Green, lost only one point in her match.

The victory over the Big Red improves their record to 4-1.

Swimming: The men's swim team finished first in seven of 13 events against Columbia on Saturday, but ended up falling short of a win in a 128-108 decision.

The women's squad also fell to the Lions on Saturday despite senior Andrea Hill's dominance in the breastroke events.

On Sunday, the men's team rallied back to edge UMass 155 1/2- 144 1/2.

The women dropped for the second day in a row, losing to UMass by a 171-129 margin.

Skiing: The Dartmouth nordic teams kicked off their collegiate carnival circuit this weekend with signs of good things to come. They finished a very respectable third behind the University of Vermont and the University of New Hampshire.
