Men's squash: the good just keep getting better

The men's squash team marched into Ithaca this past weekend to face Cornell and Rochester in a double-header that could've put the brakes on the Big Green's unprecedented hot streak.

However, in yet another exhibition of Dartmouth domination, the men dropped both opponents in convincing style.

Boosting their record to 7-0, the men's squash team defeated Cornell 9-0 in a perfect match, and then Rochester 8-1.

"We're working our way to the top of the heap of collegiate teams, one team at a time." commented Beau River '00.

Co-Captain Russell Echlov '97 showed Cornell's Patrick Kempe how it's done, taking the match in three, 15-3, 15-12, 15-13.

Echlov's success continued on into the next match as he beat Rochester's No. 2 player, 15-9, 15-12, 15-7.

Playing at the top position, River handed at quick three-set loss to Cornell's Andreas Lofquist, 15-6, 15-2, 15-12.

But River ran into problems when he came up against Ben-Ari Elias of Rochester.

He lost in a difficult three setter, 15-5, 15-13, 15-5.

The rest of the team held their own with all of them winning in both matches.

"It feels great to be 7-0," River said. "and I hope we ride this wave of success as far as we can."

The Big Green returns to the Berry Courts tonight to take on Amherst. The first match begins at 3:00.
