Much to His Chagrin

Much to my chagrin, the summer before my senior year was tragically abbreviated. Sure, there are some logistical advantages to this experimental calendar system, though I can't help but feel the same dissatisfaction as I do at the close of the lockout-shortened seasons that have become increasingly common in professional sports.

Men's, women's golf teams to open fall tournament schedules

The men's and women's golf teams will get their seasons started this weekend, with the men teeing it up in The McLaughlin at the Red Course in Bethpage, N.Y., and the women defending home turf at the Dartmouth Invitational at the Hanover Country Club. Both teams have very different lineups from last year, with the men losing three-time Ivy League champion Peter Williamson '12 and the women replacing coach Janet Coles with Hanover CC golf pro Alex Kirk. Williamson is attempting to make it onto the Web.com Tour formerly known as the Nationwide Tour and hopes to use it as a jumping off point for a PGA Tour career.

The sailing team competed in four regattas over the weekend, improving from their opening week.

1-on-1 with Pat Lahey '12

This week, I sat down with Pat Lahey '12, one of Dartmouth's veteran offensive linemen, to talk about returning from a full-season injury, the team's outlook for the season and the excitement of playing under the lights at Memorial Field. You are coming off a medical redshirt year because of a hip injury you sustained last preseason.
