Student Assembly will vote on whether to confirm Dari Seo '16 as VP

Student Assembly will discuss the confirmation of its new vice president over the next two weeks, Assembly president Frank Cunningham ’16 said. Cunningham announced in June that he was nominating Dari Seo ’16 as vice president, immediately following the resignation of then-vice president-elect Julia Dressel ’17.

Though it is unlikely that many students have upcoming nuptials on their minds, the recent Supreme Court decision legalizing same-sex marriage has social ramifications that will impact the student community here at the College.

The student body was looking good on Monday. Maybe it was the glow from the remnants of a great weekend. Maybe it was excitement for the next round of midterms. Or maybe it was the weather. After several weeks of questioning why this term is called “spring term” when there was still snow on the ground and nightly temperatures often below freezing, spring has officially sprung, and on Monday, the sun was out, the sky was blue and the Green looked kind of green in some places.

I’m not sure if I’m allowed to have nostalgia at a time like this. This is the men’s ice hockey’s story, and I am a writer, the ultimate inside-outsider. There’s an otherworldly aspect to the sport that I both understand and don’t — enough that I feel I can write something about it but just enough mystery to keep my eyes glued to what unfolds on the ice.
