Track impresses at Yale meet

Both the men's and women's track and field represented Dartmouth well on Sunday at Yale. The men totaled 87 1/2 points in defeating Yale and Columbia, and the women placed second in the tri-meet hosted by Yale. The men's track and field team won nine individual events in this preparatory meet for the Heptagonal Championship that will take place in late February. Matt Colman '01 won the 800 meters with a time of 1:56.23 while Chris Lanese '04 finished first in the mile with a time of 4:17:01. "Coach Harwick wanted us to compete in this meet to get a feeling of what it's like to go head-to-head against other Ivy teams before Heps," Lanese said.

Swim team gets off to slow start

Dartmouth's swimming and diving teams competed this weekend at the Karl Michael Pool on campus. In their first meets of the season, the Big Green men were defeated by Brown 193-50 and the Navy 191-52.

Top-ranked sailors win Horn Trophy at Harvard

The Dartmouth sailing team, ranked number one in the nation, had another outstanding weekend, winning the Horn Trophy at Harvard University. Ten sailors made up the team, winning the four-division, nine-team regatta after completing 10 races in each division.

Women's soccer loses at Hartford

The Hartford Hawks defeated the Dartmouth women's soccer team Wednesday night in a tournament of regionally ranked teams in Hartford, Conn. The Hawks' Susie Woodson scored the winning goal in the 111th minute, ending the game 2-1.
