The cross-state rivals held the Big Green (6-9, 1-1 Ivy) scoreless for the first four minutes of the second half, and took their largest lead of the night, 49-28, with 17 minutes still to play. In an effort to slow the game down and protect their commanding lead, UNH (6-12, 2-3 America East) switched from man-to-man to zone defense. Dartmouth was ready for the change.
The sports year is just two weeks old, and yet it is already shaping up to be the best year in recent memory.
Sometimes revenge is a dish best served cold, and the Dartmouth men's hockey team did just that on its home ice Tuesday evening, as the Big Green routed the College of the Holy Cross 4-0 at Thompson Arena behind a one-goal, two-assist performance from Kevin Swallow '09. The Big Green (7-8-2, 5-5-2 ECACHL) certainly had last season's contest with the Crusaders (8-12-4.
