Last year, the Dartmouth women's basketball team got off to a slow start but turned its season around after defeating Northeastern and going on to compile a winning record and a second-place finish in the Ivy League.
Jessica Griffen / The Dartmouth Staff After a tough loss to Harvard last week, the women's hockey team went on to sweep its weekend games against Union (1-13-0, 0-6-0 ECACHL) and Rennselaer (6-7-2, 1-4-1 ECACHL), improving its overall record to 9-2-1, 7-2-0 ECACHL. Harvard squeaked away last Tuesday with a 2-1 victory over the Big Green at home.
Jennie Post / The Dartmouth Staff Clutch shooting and ball control were key themes that helped propel the Big Green to its two game-winning streak going into last Saturday's game at Stony Brook (1-6). However, this time Dartmouth had trouble shooting the ball all night and could not take care of the basketball, losing control of the game early and falling, 70-43. Dartmouth slipped to 3-4 on the season while Stony Brook earned its first win of the year. Forward Alex Barnett '09 led the Big Green as the only player to score in double digits with 14 points on 7-for-11 shooting and seven rebounds.

With a frustrating loss to the University of Vermont last week, Dartmouth's men's soccer team was bumped out of the NCAA tournament and officially ended the season. "We were very disappointed in the tournament, but overall this season we have a lot to be proud of for what we achieved," said Head Coach Jeff Cook. With the end of the season, the team bids farewell to its seniors and begins looking ahead towards next year. Dartmouth's 11-4-3 season (5-1-1 Ivy League) marks the end of several soccer careers; the men's team will graduate a number of members this year, many of whom were starters. "We had six seniors and the majority of them played big roles," Pumi Maqubela '10 said. Of the players that will not be returning next year, two of the most notable are defenders Ale Frischeisen '08 and To Lobben '08, who led Dartmouth's notoriously tight back line.
Kate Coster / The Dartmouth Staff On Wednesday, the squash courts at the Berry Sports Center had an atmosphere generally reserved for Thompson Arena: Rambunctious fans were on hand cheering on the Big Green men's and women's squash teams for their showdown against perennial powerhouse Harvard.
It's the most magical time of the year, right? Umm, wrong. The end of Fall term has consistently been the least enjoyable time of my Dartmouth career.
Jennie Post / The Dartmouth Staff After blowing a late lead last week at Rutgers, the Big Green stormed back to stage some heroics of its own over the past few nights.
With all fall sports now at their end, it is time to take a closer look at some of Dartmouth's results. The football team ended its year 3-7, which was a bit of a disappointment after the high hopes of early in the season.
Kawakahi Amina / The Dartmouth Staff Despite a mostly disappointing season for the Big Green women's soccer team, four players from the Dartmouth squad earned All-Ivy honors.
Danny Gobaud / The Dartmouth Staff The Dartmouth women's basketball team was not able to escape from its scoring slump this past Sunday against Big East opponent St.
