Can you say mismatch? The Dartmouth women's lacrosse team, currently ranked ninth in the latest national poll, absolutely obliterated the University of Vermont Catamounts by the astonishing score of 19-1 in Burlington yesterday afternoon. Dartmouth improved to 7-1 with their near shutout and seventh straight win of the season while Vermont continued to head in the wrong direction, dropping to 1-7 on the season. Tri-Captain Jen Greene '98 led the Big Green with five points on the afternoon, netting two goals and raising her nation-leading total in assists. As one would imagine, Dartmouth dominated every aspect of the game, outshooting the Catamounts 43-12 and controlling 17 out of 22 draws. Liz Merritt '01 scored a hat trick on the afternoon while Mary Barensfeld '01, Julia Morrill '98 and Kate Graw '00 all chipped in two tallies on the afternoon. Meanwhile between the pipes, Sarah Carlson '99 and Ellie Leahy '01 split time combining for 11 saves on the day. Big Green leading scorer Jacque Weitzel '00 did not play because of sore shin splints.
