Riding several strong individual performances, the Dartmouth women's golf team won the Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday, marking the first time the team has won the Invitational since 1992. The Big Green also set a team record on Saturday, shooting a score of 303, the lowest one-day team score in program history.

U.S. News & World Report ranked Dartmouth 11th in its 2012 "Best Univeriversity" ranking, down from a ninth-place spot last year, U.S. News announced today. Harvard University, Princeton University and Yale University nabbed the top three spots, continuing the trend from last year's rankings.

The Board of Trustees elected three new charter trustees James G. Coulter '82, Marye Anne Fox, PhD '74 and Gregg L. Engles '79 in its spring meeting on Friday, according to a College press release. The Board elected Chairman of the Board Stephen Mandel to a second term and announced that Leon Black '73 will retire after his second term on the Board and that Stephen Smith '88 will resign after completing his first term.

Wes Schaub, director of Greek life at Case Western Reserve University, was appointed the College's permanent director of Greek Letter Organizations and Societies, according to a Thursday email sent to Greek officers from acting GLOS Director Kristi Clemens. Schaub will replace Clemens in mid-July, Clemens said in the email.

Associate Vice President for Development Tom Hebert will become the College's vice president for development on June 13, according to a College press release. Herbert, who was appointed after a national search, succeeds Vice President for Advancement Carolyn Pelzel, who assumed her current position in April 2010.

Art history professor Adrian Randolph was appointed associate dean of the faculty for the arts and humanities, according to a statement sent to all faculty members from Dean of the Faculty Michael Mastanduno on June 6. Randolph, who will serve a four-year term in the position, will replace French and comparative literature professor Kate Conley.

The Dartmouth men's rugby team beat longtime rival the United States Military Academy at West Point to win the Collegiate Rugby Sevens Championship on Sunday. The 32-10 victory, broadcast nationally on NBC, marked a decisive end to the tournament, which was played in Philadelphia.

"African Cats" is a wildlife documentary that portrays two mothers, a lioness and a cheetah, as they protect their families on the plains of Kenya and Tanzania. Layla, the lioness mother and the pride's lead hunter, is injured. A male lion and his four sons cause trouble when they take over the group. During this change, Layla struggles to protect her cub, Mara. In the meantime, Sita, a female cheetah, attempts to shield her cubs from attacks by lions and other dangers. Narrated by Samuel L. Faculty members voted to approve proposed changes to the 2012-2013 academic term calendar at today's meeting of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences. Fall term will end before Thanksgiving break, and term classes will begin on Sept. 10 in order to accommodate a full 10-week term, according to a report released by the Committee on Instruction and obtained by The Dartmouth.

Capping an impressive season in which it lost only one Ivy League game, the Dartmouth women's lacrosse team emerged victorious with a share of the League title by defeating Harvard University on Friday evening, 14-7. More than 1,000 fans attended the home win, which marked the Big Green's 11th League championship and the team's first since 2005.
