Riding several strong individual performances, the Dartmouth women's golf team won the Dartmouth Invitational on Sunday, marking the first time the team has won the Invitational since 1992. The Big Green also set a team record on Saturday, shooting a score of 303, the lowest one-day team score in program history.
Heather Roland '12 and Jane Lee '15 paced Dartmouth, shooting 10 over par and tying for second place. Sarah Knapp '14 finished fifth at 12 over par, and Marietta Smith '12 finished in 21st place at 21 over par.University of Hartford junior Sarah Sideranko won the tournament with a total score of 149, five over par.
All four players to score for Dartmouth played within six shots of the lead on Saturday, propelling the Big Green to a commanding 17-stroke advantage. The team won by nine strokes over second-place Sienna College on Sunday, while Hartford finished third overall.
Dartmouth's second team finished sixth out of 12 teams, and sat in fourth place after the first day. Two second-team players Julie Campbell '13 and Kathleen Quirk '12 finished in the top-20 overall.
The Big Green plays next weekend at the Princeton Invitational in Princeton, N.J.
