Q&A with Rockefeller Center assistant director Dvora Greenberg Koelling

Elections are a busy time at the Rockefeller Center for Public Policy. Dvora Greenberg Koelling knows the process well. In the lead up to the 2024 presidential election, Greenberg Koelling — who serves as public programs and special events assistant director — has been helping to coordinate the public programming for the 2024 Election Speaker Series. The series, in partnership with GOVT 30.17/PBPL 24, “The 2024 Election,” has brought national political figures, including former Vice President Mike Pence and Sen. John Fetterman, D-Pa., to campus this fall. The Dartmouth sat down with Greenberg Koelling to discuss her career, work at the Rockefeller Center and the rollout of the speaker series thus far.

Women’s ice hockey falls to Brown in home opener

In its home opener at Thompson Arena on Nov. 1, Dartmouth women’s hockey fell to No. 15 Brown University in a tight 2-1 game. The Big Green was left 0-6 after a second loss the next day at Yale University and a tough series of earlier road losses to No. 12 Penn State and ECAC opponents Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Union College. Six-hundred-eighty fans packed into the stands at Thompson Arena to spectate the game against Brown, according to Dartmouth Sports.

Spotlight: The Fling blends rock, blues and campus spirit

The Fling, a rock-focused student cover band founded in spring 2024, has its roots in a late night Denny’s visit, according to keyboard player and vocalist Darby Waller ’25. At 4 a.m., Waller and guitarist and vocalist Greg Hirsch ’25 — then classmates in MUS 22, “Creative Music Theory II” — found themselves discussing the possibility of a new band over eggs and pancakes.

Author Lucy Ives gives reading at Sanborn Library

On Oct. 31, author Lucy Ives read from her recently released essay collection, “An Image of My Name Enters America,” at Sanborn Library. The event, which was attended by approximately 30 people, was the latest in the English Department’s Cleopatra Mathis Poetry & Prose Series.

Former Vice President Mike Pence gives talk on American democracy

On Oct. 31, the Rockefeller Center for Public Policy and Dartmouth Dialogues co-hosted former Vice President Mike Pence for a 2024 Election Speaker Series event titled “Conservatism, the Presidency and the Future of American Democracy.” Approximately 330 people attended the event in the Hanover Inn Grand Ballroom, with another 220 watching the livestream on YouTube.

Local fire departments respond to fire at Geisel building
