This past February, Michaela Hesová ’28 played for the Czechia women’s national hockey team in the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Italy. She was the goalkeeper for Czechia’s games against Switzerland and Canada, before Czechia eventually lost in the quarterfinals to Sweden. Hesová has played goaltender for the Big Green for the past two seasons. In an interview after the Olympics, The Dartmouth sat down with Hesová to talk about what the experience was like, how she made the team and what she is taking from her experience.

Dartmouth dropped two games to Louisiana State University this weekend, losing 5-2 on Friday night and 3-0 on Sunday afternoon. However, the Big Green pitching staff, led by Eddie Albert ’26, delivered strong performances against the defending national champions. Dartmouth also defeated against Grambling State University, 12-11, on Saturday evening.

On Feb. 28, approximately 5,195 people entered Thompson Arena to watch the Big Green. According to Dartmouth Athletics, this set a new all-time attendance record for Dartmouth hockey.
Five graduating seniors were celebrated at the conclusion of the game: Alex Krause, Cam McDonald, Tucker McRae, Mikey Roberts and Oskari Vuorio.

In their last game of the regular season, men’s hockey fell to Princeton in a penalty shootout, bringing their record to 19-7-4. To finish the last game of the regular season, the Big Green set a new all-time attendance record for Dartmouth hockey in Thompson Arena, according to Dartmouth Athletics.

In their final home game of the season, Dartmouth women’s basketball team lost to the University of Pennsylvania 89-66. The senior night loss brings their record to 10-16 overall and 1-12 in the Ivy League, keeping the Big Green in last place in the conference.

The softball team began its season this past weekend in Tallahassee, Fla. at the Dugout Club Classic. The team dropped two games on Friday afternoon, losing 10-1 to Elon and 10-2 to Florida State. They then played a much closer game with Elon on Saturday but dropped the matchup 4-3. They lost 8-0 to Florida State on Saturday afternoon, before losing a closer 3-2 battle to the undefeated University of Alabama on Sunday afternoon.

At Dartmouth, student-athletes are a large part of the Big Green culture, making up 25% of campus. However, few have devoted as much time and energy to Dartmouth Athletics as former communications director Justin Lafleur. After 12 years in sports media relations at Lehigh University in Bethlehem, Pa., Lafleur began his tenure at Dartmouth with the start of the 2022 academic year. However, Lafleur left Dartmouth on Feb.15th to become director of communications at his alma mater, the University of Massachusetts Amherst.

Delby Lemieux ’26 is no stranger to the spotlight, but he has a unique opportunity to fulfill a dream every young football player has: Being drafted into the NFL. Lemieux, a senior captain and former All-Ivy offensive lineman, was selected to compete in the Senior Bowl, a national, annual showcase for the best senior football players. This selection is a step toward being drafted into the NFL. Despite the accompanying pressure as well as a position change from left tackle to center, Lemieux approached the rigorous week with optimism and an open mind, leaving with an impressive performance according to several accounts. The Dartmouth sat down with Lemieux to talk about the process leading up to this game as well as how he feels heading into the home stretch, with the NFL Draft scheduled for late April.

After finishing the 2025 campaign ranked fifth in a loaded Ivy League, Dartmouth men’s lacrosse is looking forward to bringing the energy and finding success this upcoming season. In its recent release, the Big Green are ranked fifth in the Ivy League preseason poll.

The Dartmouth ski team competed at home on Jan. 30-31, finishing second behind the University of Vermont. Skiers competed in alpine and nordic races spread between the Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme Center, N.H., and Oak Hill in Hanover, N.H. This marked the end of a nine-carnival Eastern Intercollegiate Ski Association winning streak for the Nordic team.
