Big Green rugby teams fall just short of huge weekend victories

It was a heartbreaking weekend of "almosts" and "could-have-beens" for Dartmouth rugby; the men's team lost the Ivy League title to Brown while the women's team lost the Eastern Championship to Princeton by a hair. After many months of preparation, including a spring tour in England, the women ruggers traveled to Princeton for the weekend.Along with Amherst, Dartmouth represented New England at Easterns.

DSO delivers shining Fall term performance

On Saturday evening, students and community members filled Spaulding Auditorium for the Dartmouth Symphony Orchestra's fall concert. Directed by Anthony Princiotti, the DSO welcomed classical music lovers and non-enthusiasts alike with Mozart's "Overture to la Clemenza di Tito." The short and energetic opening piece awakened the audience's senses in preparation for Felix Mendelssohn's "Violin Concerto in E Minor, Op.


Drug survey aids schools

A three-year drug and alcohol education program for directed by Dartmouth in collaboration with four Vermont and New Hampshire middle schools will serve as a national model for teaching students about resisting drugs and alcohol.. A survey conducted last fall indicated that 17% of middle school students surveyed are occasional or regular cigarette smokers. Approximately seven percent have reported lifetime marijuana use; and ten percent of middle school students are binge drinkers.



Three lacrosse players make All-American

On weekends throughout the next year, three Dartmouth students will attend All-American Lacrosse practices in the Baltimore area in preparation for a three-week-long world tour in June 1994. During the weekend of June 6th through 8th, two Dartmouth women and one graduate made the All-American Lacrosse Team.
