Despite an early lead off of a goal from Virginia Peisch '11, the Big Green (8-5, 2-2 Ivy) fell behind before the half was over and went on to see Yale (7-6, 3-1 Ivy) score two more to seal the game. Co-captain Claire Byrne '11 said that the Big Green did not get off to the fast start that they usually try for in games. "We did not have an explosive first half," she said.

As the Dartmouth women's volleyball team continues to build on its fantastic 12-3 start, Kendall Houston '12, who leads the team (12-3, 3-1 Ivy) with 376 assists on the year, is doing everything she can to help push the Big Green toward an Ivy League championship. Though Houston has started for the volleyball team since her freshman year, captain Jessie Hartman '11 has seen Houston's development first-hand and believes she continues to improve. The Big Green's combined points in the first week of competition put the team in second place overall in its division. At its first show, Dartmouth was led by first-place showings from Abby Franklin '13 and co-captain Helena Witte '13 in the advanced walk-trot-canter and in the novice fences events, respectively.
