Coed sailing takes sixth at NE Championship

The Dartmouth sailing team competed in the New England Team Race Championship at Harvard University this weekend, finishing sixth out of 12 teams, the best the program has done in the past 5 years. Team members competing in the races included Matt Wefer '14, Molly Wilson '13, Scott Houck '15, Avery Plough '14, Deirdre Lambert '15, Abigail Rohman '16, Ian Storck '15 and Hope Wilson '16.

Softball loses Ivy League title in three-game series to Penn

Dartmouth softball lost a heartbreaker to the University of Pennsylvania at the Ivy Championship Series in three games, missing a chance for an automatic berth in the NCAA tournament. The Big Green (26-20, 15-5 Ivy) split Saturday's doubleheader, losing the first game 1-0 and winning the second 6-2, forcing a decisive third game on Sunday that the Quakers (30-18, 16-4 Ivy) won 3-2. "I'm proud of the way we played," Megan Averitt '15 said.

Wefer '14 looks to sail in upcoming Olympics

Sailor Matt Wefer '14 will be going for the gold come 2016. Following his childhood dream, Wefer is working with his five-year sailing partner, University of Vermont junior Jordan Factor, to qualify for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. "We complement one another very well and are able to make up for each other's weaknesses," Wefer said.
