A scammer posing as “Officer Sean White” has been leaving threatening voicemails on local residents’ answering machines, the Hanover Police Department announced in a media release today.
Police investigators determined that the caller, who claims to have important information for homeowners, is working with conspirators to elicit cash payments from unsuspecting targets. The scammer has been providing a return number of 325-400-8607.
Hanover Police became aware of this issue after receiving multiple phone calls from affected residents.
