EPAC announces Student Assembly candidates

Student Assembly’s Elections and Planning Advisory Committee announced the list of candidates in the 2016 election today in an email to campus. Voting will take place from 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 16 to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 17.

Campaigning officially begins on Sunday, April 10.

Candidates for Assembly president are Joby Bernstein ’17, Sean Cann ’17, Aaron Cheese ’18, Nicholas Harrington ’17, Ben Packer ’17 and Shivang Sethi ’17. As in last year’s elections, there are no women running for Assembly president this term.

Nathan Busam ’17, Sally Portman ’17, Menaka Reddy ’18 and Timo Vaimann ’17 are running for Student Assembly vice president.

On April 11, Matthew Zubrow '17 and Kevin Brotman '17 suspended their campaigns for Assembly president and vice president, respectively.

Candidates for 2017 Class Council president are Dillon Rich ’17 and Elisabeth Schricker ’17, while vice presidential candidates are Abena Frempong ’17 and Andrew Goldfarb ’17. Hanting Guo ’19, Josephine Kalshoven ’19 and Danny Li ’19 are running for 2019 Class Council, and Toriyama Asam ’18 is the only candidate for 2018 Class Council.

Running for the Committee on Standards and Organizational Adjudication Committee are Morgan Corley ’18, Oliver Edelson’18, Daniel Lee ’17 and Ian Whitney ’18.

As of press time, two candidate debates will be held in Collis Common Ground prior to elections. The first, focusing on Greek life, will be held at 7:00 p.m on Thursday, April 14, and the second, moderated by The Dartmouth, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 15. A candidate meet and greet event is also planned, although the date remains to be announced.
