Geisel professor Ronald Taylor dies unexpectedly Saturday

Geisel School of Medicine professor Ronald Taylor died of a heart attack on Saturday night.

Taylor joined Geisel as an associate professor in 1993, where he taughtmicrobiology and immunology. His research work focused on the prevention and treatment of epidemic cholera. He also led the College’s Microbiology and Molecular Pathogenesis Program, which provides training opportunities for Ph.D. students.

His partner, Paula Sundstrom, is also a professor of microbiology and immunology at Geisel.

College President Phil Hanlon and interim dean of Geisel Duane Compton notified the community through an email Sunday night and expressed their condolences.
