Majority of campus experiences power outage

Following a thunderstorm, main campus lost power shortly before 5 p.m., associate vice president of facilities operations and management Frank Roberts announced in an email to campus. Liberty Utilities, the College's power provider, does not currently have an estimate for when power will be restored to main campus.

Services at the western and northern parts of campus are still operational, but Baker-Berry Library, the Class of 1953 Commons, the Hopkins Center and the buildings surrounding the Green are all without power. Residence halls without power include the East Wheelock cluster, Massachusetts Row, the Fayerweather cluster and the Choates cluster.

Facilitieswith power include the Tuck School of Business, the Thayer School of Engineering, the Geisel School of Medicine and the River and McLaughlin residential clusters.

Students experiencing problems related to the power outage are encouraged to call Safety and Security.

Update: May 28, 2015

Power was restored to all of campus around midnight.
