Registrar Thomas Bickel recently accepted an appointment for another four-year term from the Dean of the Faculty office.
He has served as the College's Registrar since 1987.
Bickel's job entails maintaining records of students' academic work and transcripts and handling the registration of undergraduates. "I'm absolutely delighted he has received a second reappointment. He is fair and even-handed," Assistant Dean of Faculty Sheila Culbert said.
She lauded Bickel's performance as chair of the ad-hoc enrollment committee, where she said he sorted out all the factors causing the yearly Fall-term housing crunch.
Bickel also effectively coordinated information between the Registrar, the Office of Residential Life and the Dean of the Faculty office to find solutions to housing shortages, Culbert said.
Bickel, who is currently on a three-week vacation, could not be reached for comment.
