A packed room of students came together at Kappa Delta Epsilon Thursday night to partake in "Who'd You Hook Up With?", part one of a discussion about the role of Greek life in gender relations at Dartmouth. The event was led by a diverse panel of seven students, each with a unique perspective to add to the discussion. Last night's talk was aimed at tackling the role sororities in particular play in forming the relationships between men and women on campus. Big Green Investors, which was founded last November by Jonathan Arbeit '02 and Hank Leukart '01, helps Dartmouth students who are unable to resist the allure of Wall Street immerse themselves in the world of finance while they are still in Hanover. The organization currently has a stock portfolio worth $10,000, including shares in Apple Computers and Oracle.
Parking meter rates in downtown Hanover were doubled to 50 cents an hour on Monday following the outcome of a July vote by local business owners. The increase will affect meters in town parking lots as well as most of Lebanon Street, which had previously used 25 cents an hour.
