Penn gears up for NCAA bid

Ivy League champion Penn chalked up two more wins this weekend, bringing their winning streak to a program-record 20 games, currently the longest streak in the nation in men's and women's basketball.

Stony Brook falls to Big Green

Now, this is more like it. The Dartmouth women's basketball team (3-11, 1-2 Ivy) picked up their second win in a row Wednesday when they traveled to New York to face Stony Brook (10-8). Dartmouth defeated the Seawolves 68-59 in the non-conference game, breaking the host team's 11-game home winning streak. Katharine Hanks '03 led her team in scoring with 21 points, putting her at 24th on Dartmouth's all-time scoring list with 631.

It's been a slow beginning for the Dartmouth women's basketball team this season. Despite some solid individual performances, the squad has faced a difficult non-league schedule and has only won one game thus far.

Bears, Tigers win in field hockey

Brown 5, Penn 0 Brown senior Cara Gardner recorded a hat trick in Sunday's match-up between the Bears (8-6, 2-4) and the Quakers (3-12, 0-6) in Philadelphia. In the first half, Brown's offense dominated, keeping the Quakers from taking any shots on goal.

Field hockey wins close contest with Vermont

Carolyn Steele '03 put back a penalty stroke for the Dartmouth field hockey team on the road this past Tuesday, leading her squad to a close 1-0 victory over the University of Vermont. The win improved the Big Green's record to 7-4 overall, 3-1 Ivy.

Field hockey drops close match

On a chilly Wednesday afternoon, the Dartmouth field hockey team (5-2, 2-1) traveled to Durham, NH, to face the UNH Wildcats (7-5). Despite an even matchup and strong play by the Big Green, they fell to UNH in double overtime, 4-3. In the first half of the game, Dartmouth pulled ahead to a 2-0 lead.
