Baseball splits doubleheaders

|

Never mind the late season snow drizzles up here in Hanover. The Dartmouth baseball team got a second breath of spring air this past weekend. After a frustrating non-league start, the Big Green sluggers started all over again on Friday and Saturday, opening the all-important Ivy League season with two wins in doubleheaders at Princeton and Cornell. "That has been a difficult trip for us," Head Coach Bob Whalen said of the six hour bus rides to Princeton and Cornell.

Men's golf squad holds high hopes

|

Soon the only white objects to be sailing through the Hanover sky will be the precision-aimed Titleists of the Dartmouth men's golf squad. Though still young and lacking experience, the team hopes to improve on its respectable fall showing. The team returned from a spring trip in Panama City, Florida, where beautiful weather, good golf and an occasional bungee jump prevailed. "[The trip was a] great chance for the team to come back together," Jay Lavender '98 said. "The team is now set," co-Captain Mackenzie Hurd '98 said.

Gilmer '96, Isler '96 lead team

As the baseball team kicks off their season in search of their first Ivy League title since 1987, it is obvious that the team will need to rely on the stellar play and leadership of captains Greg Gilmer '96 and Jake Isler '96. "I really have no individual goals this season," Gilmer said.
