Women's hoops looks for revenge

|

The Dartmouth women will be in an unfamiliar situation this weekend: they'll be seeking revenge. Having all but cruised through the Ivy League season so far, Dartmouth looks to avenge its only road loss of the conference, which came two weeks ago at the hands of Brown. Dartmouth has five games left in the season and must win them all in order to keep pace with first-place Pennsylvania, who has one loss to Dartmouth's two.

Clubbers fall to BC and Vermont

|

Proving that last week's victory was a mere aberration, this past weekend saw the Dartmouth club hockey team revert back to its familiar losing ways, dropping games to both Babson College and the University of Vermont. The clubbers visited Babson Friday night where they were welcomed by a hostile, sold-out arena.

Coach Faucher leaves legacy of integrity and class

Well, the fateful day has arrived. Dave Faucher has resigned as the head coach of the Big Green men's basketball team, effective at the end of the current season. In covering sports for a college newspaper, one often runs the risk of becoming too close to the coaches and athletes to remain a fair and objective journalist.

Clubbers overcome past debacles to capture home win

|

The Dartmouth Club Hockey team finally left Thompson Arena as actual winners this past Sunday. Despite Dartmouth's laid back approach and apparent lack of formal attire, the Clubbers still managed to reduce their suit-wearing competition, the Boston Junior Blackhawks, to shambles with a final score of 6-4. The absences of team bruiser, Anthony Balsamo '04, and defensive bulwark, Russ Daiber '06, only fueled the passion of team captain Jon Webster '04 to deliver an inspired pre-game sermon, which he later explained to those fortunate enough not to have been present at the time of its dramatic unveiling.
