Big Green swimmers and divers returned Sunday night from a rough weekend of races on the road that resulted in losses to the University of Pennsylvania (232-68) and Yale (243-57) on Saturday followed up by Princeton (163-118) on Sunday. "What the scores from this past weekend fail to show is that we held our own given the circumstances," said senior captain Lauren Gilhooly, "and performed better overall in these two back-to-back meets than we have in the past few years." In Philadelphia, freshman distance sensation Melissa Kern posted her best time of the season for the 1000 freestyle and the third fastest in Dartmouth history with a 10:28.57.
The Dartmouth women's water polo team competed in the National Collegiate Club Water Polo Championships at Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis.
The women's water polo team won its second consecutive New England Championship over the weekend at Wesleyan and qualified for the national tournament, which will be held at the beginning of May. In the first game of the tournament the Big Green handily defeated Bates College 16-1.
The women's club water polo team traveled down to Emory University in Atlanta to showcase its talent at the National Club Championship Tournament.

Today's graduates are probably the last to remember when the Apple Macintosh Performa 6400/180 computer, priced at $1,646, was the preferred computer package for incoming freshmen. Dean of the College James Larimore responded to the Student Assembly's recent resolution to improve Kresge Fitness Center by allocating an additional $8,000 toward its improvement. An additional $4,000 will be allocated toward the repair, maintenance and purchasing of new equipment on top of the annual budget of $10,000 intended for that purpose.
