College considers residential changes

Dennis Ng / The Dartmouth Staff The College's residential education office is exploring new ways to promote diversity and community learning on campus through integrated learning environments, which would incorporate academic experiences into other facets of students' lives. Over the past year, residential education has examined ways to increase the number of integrated learning communities on campus. "Integrative learning is the ability to understand and connect meaning between all the experiences at college," residential education director Michael Wooten said.

Divest Dartmouth, a student-run organization that recently launched its official campaign, met yesterday to gather support to pressure the College to withdraw investments from fossil fuel extracting companies. The meeting attracted nearly 30 students, and the group discussed their hopes for and concerns about the campaign.

Dartmouth's four mobile applications have yet to be widely used by the student body, but they offer access to course materials, a steamlined interface to the Dartmouth website and closer connections to campus news.
