Sailing claims spot at ICSA nationals

The beginning of May presents two milestones for the Dartmouth sailing team: one month until the ICSA championship and the thawing of Lake Mascoma. Over the next weeks, the team will have plenty of opportunities to fine-tune technique and break in a brand new fleet of boats as the women prepare to defend their national championship and the coed team looks to improve on last year’s third-place finish.

Men’s lacrosse drops sixth straight, falls to 1-8

The men’s lacrosse team (1-8, 0-4 Ivy) dropped its sixth consecutive game on Saturday, a 13-10 loss to No. 17 Princeton University. Last season, the team upset the Tigers 10-9, but this time around, the Tigers (7-4, 2-2 Ivy) came out firing, ripping 31 shots in the first half en route to 53 in the game.

Geoghegan ’14 sets Ivy, Dartmouth records with sub-four mile

Will Geoghegan ’14 did not consider running Division I track until his sophomore year of high school, when he quit baseball, his primary sport at the time, to start outdoor track. Last weekend, Geoghegan achieved the runner’s holy grail, running a sub-four-minute mile, suggesting that the switch was worth it.

The volleyball team had a tough weekend of home matches against the University of Pennsylvania and Princeton University. The Quakers (14-9, 8-4 Ivy) and Tigers (9-13, 5-7 Ivy) beat the Big Green (10-14, 3-9 Ivy) in 3-1 matches
