Over the past several weeks, Baker-Berry Library has hosted a variety of events aimed at informing students and faculty about the open access movement, a national campaign to make scholarship freely accessible worldwide.

Mushingi becomes U.S. ambassador

Former College lecturer Tulinabo Mushingi has begun his role as the U.S. ambassador to Burkina Faso, making him the first African-born naturalized American to return to Africa as an ambassador. The appointment marks the culmination of Mushingi's lifelong diplomatic work, which began in the Peace Corps, where he served as a language and cultural trainer.

Construction begins on Triangle House

Construction has begun on the Triangle House, a new affinity house for the LGBT community and its allies at 4 North Park Street, formerly a residence for staff and faculty. Located just north of Alpha Phi sorority, the Triangle House will have 25 beds, a two-room apartment for an advisor and social spaces on the first floor and in the basement.
