Lavender's death not being treated as suspicious, Crady says

Cody Lavender, a member of the Class of 2010, died early Sunday morning while studying at the University of Edinburgh on the Dartmouth religion Foreign Study Program, according to College officials. An article in The Scotsman, an Edinburgh-based Scottish newspaper, reported that Lavender fell from the fourth-floor balcony of one of the university's residence halls.

SA closes term with final meeting

Grey Cusack / The Dartmouth Staff Student Assembly held its last meeting of the term on Tuesday, focusing on the organization's plans for next term and recapping a number of this fall's initiatives, including the solicitation of student feedback regarding the presidential search leadership statement and proposed changes to the College's alcohol policy. Heading into Winter term, the Assembly will make recommendations to the administration regarding upcoming budget cuts at the College.


Student seek information on employment opportunities at a career fair at the College earlier in the term, despite recent reports that anticipate a significant decrease in hiring.

True '08, Randall '09 run at NCAAs

Seniors Ben True '08 and Glenn Randall '09 competed at the 2008 NCAA Cross Country Championships last Monday in Terre Haute, Ind., marking the end of two storied Dartmouth cross country careers. True finished the 10-kilometer race in 53rd with a time of 30:30.

Peisch '11 and Hood '12 represent U.S. at Pan-American Cup

Dartmouth field hockey players Virginia Peisch '11 and Kelly Hood '12 came home with silver medals last week after representing the United States at the 2008 Indoor Pan-American Cup, held in San Juan, Argentina. With the encouragement of Dartmouth associate head coach Andy Smith, the players traveled to Pennsylvania earlier in the year to attend open tryouts and were ultimately chosen for the national squad. The team of roughly 20 players was announced after a number of practices over the summer.
