Reflections from Seasoned Green Key Athletes

(05/22/23 5:00am)

This past weekend, campus came together to celebrate Green Key weekend, one of the biggest social events at Dartmouth. Since almost all teams’ seasons have officially ended, sports coverage options were slim for us sports editors as we wrapped up Week 8 of the term. While we experienced Green Key, however, we noticed many parallels between this music festival-marathon and high-stakes, athletic competition. As we recover, we’ve realized how we approached the weekend from the perspective of athletes; thus, it deserves its spot in The Dartmouth’s Sports section. We hope you take away from this the lessons we learned from this year’s Green Key, so you may better prepare in the years to come.

Men’s ice hockey victorious with Yale sweep and Brown overtime shootout

(11/12/22 6:10am)

Men’s ice hockey has started its season with both triumphs and tribulations. While the team had a strong pre-season with decisive wins over McGill University and the University of Guelph, the team lost its first two games against Harvard University and Army West Point 5-2  and 8-3, respectively. However, the Big Green reversed its momentum this past weekend at home with a 6-0 victory over Yale University, followed by a shootout victory over Brown University.

Down the Rabbit Hole: Last Chances

(06/01/22 6:15am)

As the snow melted and slipped through the uneven cracks in the sidewalk, the energy shifted on campus. Eager students began populating the Green to engage in intense matches of spikeball, sweating from the shimmering rays of sunlight beating down upon them. Colorful flowers bloomed and Zyrtec sales increased as the new weather exacerbated allergy season. It finally felt like spring in Hanover was here — a season of change and new beginnings. Yet, spring also brings about a finalty to the school year, a finality that pushes each one of us to experience the things you missed during the previous terms.
