Omega Psi Phi re-establishes local chapter on campus after 31-year absence

On April 8, four students — Cameron Maddox ’24, Joey Richmond ’24, Q Jones ’25 and Satchel Williams ’24 — took part in a new member presentation commemorating the re-establishment of a chapter of the Omega Psi Phi fraternity on campus. The new member presentation, held outside Dartmouth Hall, “celebrated the revitalization of the Theta Beta Beta chapter that has not been active at Dartmouth for 31 years,” according to an April 10 newsletter from assistant dean of residential life and director of Greek life Josh Gamse. Theta Beta Beta is Dartmouth’s local designation from Omega Psi Phi, which attributes unique Greek lettering to each of its chapters, according to the national organization’s website.
Dartmouth tennis struggles to gain momentum during Ivy League play

Dartmouth tennis hopes to secure more Ivy League wins after some recent defeats. The men's team played at home in Hanover against Columbia University this past Saturday and against Cornell University the following day at Dartmouth's Thompson Outdoor Courts. The women's team traveled to New York to face both Columbia and Cornell away.

Big Green baseball is looking to maintain its strong performance in conference play following its 2022 season. Last spring, the Big Green finished with a 24-19 overall record and 14-7 in conference play to secure a third place finish in the standings.

Dartmouth Outing Club hosts second annual outdoor inclusivity conference

The second annual All Outside conference — the Dartmouth Outing Club’s annual conference on equity and inclusion in the outdoors — ran from Feb. 22 to Feb. 26. The conference was hosted by the Diversity, Inclusion, Justice & Equity division of the DOC — a sub-club that focuses on making the DOC “more welcoming and accessible to all,” according to their website — and was organized by Diane Chen ’26, Grace Connolly ’25 and Fiona Hood ’26. The event consisted of outdoor skill sessions, speakers, discussions, a dinner and beginner-friendly outdoor trips, Hood said.
Men’s tennis places seventh at ECAC Indoor Championship

Last weekend, men’s tennis hosted the Eastern College Athletic Conference Indoor Championship at the Boss Tennis Center. The Big Green lost its first two matches against Columbia University and Yale University, but ended the weekend on a positive note with a win against Brown University in the seventh-place match.

On Monday, Lori Arviso Alvord ’79 — the first member of the Navajo Nation to be board certified in general surgery — spoke to about 50 attendees at an event held in the Kreindler Conference Hall. The event, titled “Integrating Healing Properties of Traditional Native Medicine with Western Practice,” was hosted by the Dickey Center for International Understanding.
