The Ivy title was impossible. Jen Stamp '96 was out for the season with a broken leg. And after falling hard to Yale Friday night in a 67-49 decision, it seemed the Dartmouth women's basketball team was ready to give up.

Usually, the weekends at home turn out to be easier than those on the road, but not for the women's basketball team. Entering this weekend with a 7-2 record in the Ivies, the Big Green endured two tough losses this weekend to Princeton and Penn. But even more devastating could be the loss of Jen Stamp '96, who broke her leg late Saturday in the Penn game.

The Dartmouth women's basketball team deserved the same rush of pandemonium from the stands that the men's team received this weekend. No. There was no last second shot at the buzzer, but the intensity prevailed as the women defeated Pennsylvania and Princeton.

The women's basketball team picked up a win this past Saturday night versus Yale, but was not able to defeat Brown Friday night in Leede Arena. Dartmouth lost a close 68-64 game to the Bears and came back to beat Yale, 65-54. The loss and win moves Dartmouth's record to 11-6 overall, 3-2 in the Ivy League.

After a week and a half of solid practice time, the Dartmouth women's basketball team resumes its Ivy schedule this weekend against Brown and Yale. The Big Green are currently ranked third in the Ivies with a 2-1 record, 10-5 overall.

Apparently the trek to Easton, Pa. this weekend was worth it, as the Dartmouth women's basketball defeated Lafayette College, 69-56. The win improves Dartmouth's record to 10-5 overall (2-1 in the Ivy League).
