At 10 p.m. on June 25 — the first day of classes for the summer term — two students were arrested for possession of alcohol under 21 years of age, according to Hanover Police captain Michael Schibuola.
Officers observed the two students walking on East Wheelock Street with open containers of alcohol and gave them a court summons on scene, Schibuola wrote in an email statement to The Dartmouth.
“Often with case[s] such as alcohol violations, the individuals who were charged are eligible for participation in a diversion program in lieu of going to court,” he wrote.
