By the Numbers

We do the math so you don’t have to.

28 — the percentage of Dartmouth undergraduates who reporting seeing a mental health counselor in the last year, according to the 2014 Dartmouth Student Health Survey. With 4,228 full-time students at Dartmouth , that means approximately 1,200 met with a mental health professional last year.

7, 2, 3, 2 — the numbers of staff psychologists, psychiatrists, counselors and nutritionists, respectively, at Counseling and Human Development in Dick’s House.

48 — the number of students computer science professor Andrew Campbell tracked for an entire term with his student life app. The app could measure when a student slept, chatted, moved around or studied.

4-5 — between these weeks, the students whom Campbell tracked stopped going to the gym almost entirely.

4 — the number of Through the Looking Glass features that the Mirror published last term that discussed mental health.
