Sociology professor Denise Anthony began today as the College's vice provost for academic initiatives. In the new role, she will focus on recruiting, training and retaining faculty, looking particularly at staff diversity, according to aTuesdayemail from Provost Carolyn Dever.

As vice provost for academic initiatives, Anthony will oversee the Dartmouth Center for the Advancement of Learning, the Ethics Institute and the College's international programs.
Anthony will serve in this position for four years.
