Vice President Biden to visit campus on Friday

Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Jill Biden will visit Dartmouth on Friday to deliver speeches at a "grassroots event" on the lawn of Cutter-Shabazz Hall, according to a press release from the campaign to reelect President Barack Obama.

The event, which will begin at 1:15 p.m. and for which the doors will open at 11 a.m., is free and open to the public, but tickets are required to attend.

Biden will discuss the upcoming presidential election's effect on middle-class families and Obama's plan for reducing the national debt "in a balanced way that ensures everyone pays their fair share and still invests in the things we need to create jobs and grow our economy over the long term, like education, energy, innovation and infrastructure," according to the release.

Tickets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis starting at 5 p.m. today in room 222 in the Collis Center. Tickets will also be available at Obama for America offices throughout New Hampshire.

The Bidens will also attend an event in Concord on Friday, as well as events in Merrimack and Manchester on Saturday.
