Ben Berk '00 was elected the president of the Dartmouth Outing Club and Elizabeth French '99 was elected the DOC vice president last night. Their terms last for one year.
Other officers, like DOC secretary and treasurer, will be appointed next term.
Berk said as president, he will work to make the DOC more active and visible on campus.
"The DOC is a place on this campus for everyone. The opportunities and resources it provides are enormous and my job is to help others recognize that," Berk said.
He said the DOC member clubs, such as Bait and Bullet or Women in the Wilderness, do not necessarily have places for everyone on campus.
"The freshman DOC trips are the ideal," he said. "I want to continue that kind of enthusiasm through the year."
