Hanover police continue to investigate Lodge thefts

The Hanover Police Department is still investigating two burglaries that occurred over spring break in the Lodge residence hall, but is not yet prepared to make any arrests, Hanover Police Detective Sergeant Frank Moran said.

"We are looking into a couple of different things," said Moran, who is conducting the investigation. "We are still actively investigating the leads we have."

During spring break, two thieves entered rooms in the Lodge through open windows and stole several pieces of electronic equiptment.

The intruders burglarized two rooms and attempted to enter a third.

Safety and Security Investigator Lauren Cummings said Safety and Security is not involved in the investigation. "It's all the Hanover Police Department," he said.

However, in an effort to prevent future break-ins, Safety and Security is continuously conducting crime prevention programming, Safety and Security Officer Rebel Roberts said.

Safety and Security is working with Area Coordinators and Undergraduate Advisors to ensure that students living in residence halls lock their doors and windows, she said.
