Rowekamp joins SA VP race

Scott Rowekamp '97 became the fourth candidate to place his name on the ballot for Student Assembly vice president at the end of last term.

Rowekamp, who was off-campus last term, has served four terms on the Assembly, one as Assembly treasurer. He said he decided to run because he believes he can overcome the Assembly's infighting and work effectively as vice president.

He said he chose to run "because of everything that went on Fall term ... all the infighting. I just saw no need for it."

A member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity and the Conservative Union At Dartmouth, Rowekamp said if he is elected, he will attempt to encourage reforming the Assembly and continue work on it.

He said the Assembly needs reform because it presently has little influence with the administration and little respect from the student body.

Juniors Aleph Henestrosa, Kelii Opulauoho and Bill Tovell will also run for Student Assembly vice president. The election is on April 11, and campaigning can begin at 12:01 a.m. on April 4.
