Rush over, men sink bids

The traffic along Webster Ave. has eased up and fraternity rush hour is finally over.

By Friday night the College's 15 fraternities had finalized their membership invitations after three nights of rush, and by Saturday approximately half of sophomore men had accepted bids.

This year showed a large disparity among the fraternities. On the high end of the scale Psi Upsilon fraternity received 34 new members while Gamma Delta Chi fraternity has six new members.

Guy Yardeni '92, Gamma Delt's new member representative, said he felt rush went well, even though his house did not gain as many members as expected.

Beta Theta Pi, Bonesgate and Kappa Chi Kappa fraternities would not disclose numbers of incoming members. Phi Delta Alpha fraternity could not be reached for comment.
