Nichols accumulated $45,690 during a four-day winning streak on "Jeopardy!" last February but was invited back because the game show inadvertantly penalized him for a correct response he had given during his fifth appearance.
If victorious tonight, Nichols, who lost that fifth game by $110, will advance to the Tournament of Champions.
Jeopardy airs twice tonight at 7 p.m. on Channel 31 and at 7:30 p.m. on Channel 9.
