Midnight scrawlers advocate gay rights

Messages advocating homosexual rights were scrawled in chalk on the steps of Parkhust Administration building and near the Hinman Box entrance to the Hopkins Center for the Performing Arts late last night.

The Dartmouth received two anonymous telephone calls at approximately 11:45 p.m. reporting students were outside writing the messages. Reporters who immediately went to Parkhurst and the Hop were unable to find any scrawlers. Nobody has claimed responsibility for the graffiti.

Messages such as these appeared outside Parkhurst and the Hop: "Eliminate ROTC"; "Dartmouth administration betrays its G/L/B students"; " Lee -- Don't let it happen again"; "Dartmouth Dykes want recognition!"
