Spiegel will stay on

Sandra Spiegel, the interim director of the Women's Resource Center, will remain with the College next year as a counselor at Dick's House and as an official in the affirmative action office.

Spiegel was appointed interim director last September after former director Mary Childers became head of the College's affirmative action office.

The College named Giavanna Munafo, a doctoral candidate from the University of Virginia, the new director of the Center three weeks ago. She will take over on Sept. 1.

Spiegel, who was a counselor at Dick's House before being named acting director of the Women's Resource Center last fall, said she is glad to be able to continue working at the College.

"I'm excited about working in the Affirmative Action Office," she said. "I'm delighted to maintain contacts with students … College-aged students are a group of people I really enjoy working with."

Spiegel said she has enjoyed interacting with a diverse group of women and working closely with the Women's Studies Program during the past year.
