A student was taken by ambulance to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center shortly after noon yesterday after suffering a non-food related injury in the basement of Thayer Dining Hall.
Two paramedics from Hanover Ambulance carried the first-year student, immobilized on a backboard, from the basement to a waiting ambulance between Thayer and South Mass.
Hanover Police officers and Safety and Security officers at the scene were unwilling to comment on the circumstances surrounding the injury.
Diane Williams, a spokeswoman for the DHMC, said the student was treated and discharged at 3:20 p.m.
