Date rape drug emerges on college campuses

The "date rape drug" has emerged on an increasing number of campuses and may have been used at Dartmouth. The use of Rohypnol, widely known as the "date rape drug," has become a nationwide concern and may now be an issue on campus.

Law and order tested during weekend

For many students and alumni, Homecoming Weekend is the highlight of fall--three days of fun to make up for working the rest of the year. However, three days of celebration for most students translates to three days of work for those in charge of keeping Dartmouth's students and grounds safe. A special College committee prepares for the weekend months in advance, planning everything from the delivery of the lumber for the bonfire to the security at half-time of the football game. Dean: old dept., new challenges

Mary Liscinsky, the new Assistant Dean of Residential Life, is not a newcomer to the Dartmouth campus. Liscinsky, who was an Area Director on the west side of campus from 1989 to 1992, returned to Dartmouth this summer with a wealth of experience and knowledge of residential life at the College. Liscinsky said she fondly remembers living in Maxwell Channing Cox Apartments and being able to actively participate in student life on campus. She said one of her main pleasures of being an Area Director was spending time with students. In 1992, Liscinsky left Hanover and worked in the residential office of Indiana University.
