Winter weather is at its warmest since 1991

The warmest winter in six years resulted in bad ski conditions and a muddier Green, but has not caused a major change in local business. Weather Services Meterologist Dave Taylor said the unseasonably mild Upper Valley winter is the warmest the area has experienced since 1991. "The temperature has been an average five degrees warmer than normal," he said.

Rain threatens efforts to build snow sculpture

Workers constructing the snow sculpture say the 30-foot knight will be finished in time for Winter Carnival, although rain forecast for Wednesday night could undermine their efforts. The sculpture will depict a knight fighting a dragon, in the tradition of England's Saint George.

College to host conference on student centers Saturday

Students and administrators from more than 50 colleges in New England and the United Kingdom will converge on Hanover this weekend for a conference examining ways to improve student life by bettering student unions. The conference was put together by the Association of College Unions International.

International Office director to leave

Director of the International Office and International Student Advisor Judy Mackenzie is leaving Dartmouth at the end of Spring term. Mackenzie has been head of the International Office since its founding in 1987.
