Housing quality, rents often vary
By Erin Landau and Hannah Wang | September 27, 2012Nushy Golriz / The Dartmouth Staff From upperclassmen trying to recreate their freshman year experiences to varsity athletes looking to live as close to practice as possible, many students choose to live off campus with friend groups to garner a sense of hominess not found in College housing despite the relatively high cost of rent and occasional mishaps. Although it varies by term, between 8 and 9 percent of enrolled undergraduate students live off campus, according to Director of Undergraduate Housing Rachael Class-Giguere. Patrick Campbell '15 said he decided to live off-campus so that he could live with all of his lacrosse teammates in one place.
