Critically acclaimed Ultima Vez amazes audiences

Anna Davies / The Dartmouth Senior Staff When casting for the production of Ultima Vez's "What the Body Does Not Remember," rehearsal director Eduardo Torroja judged the potential dancers based on three aspects: their bodies, minds and hearts. Ultima Vez, a critically acclaimed dance company based in Belgium, performed in Moore Theater Tuesday and Wednesday evening. Ultima Vez dancers have to be able to withstand the extreme physicality of their performance while trusting and supporting one another.

‘Mad Men' returns to television after hiatus

Courtesy of Nytimes.com This Sunday, the critically acclaimed AMC drama "Mad Men" premiered its fifth season with "A Little Kiss." The show, which chronicles the advertising business in the 1960s, returned after a 17-month hiatus that left fans without their weekly fix of drama, jealousy, whiskey drinking and glamour shots of protagonist Don Draper (Jon Hamm). Filling this year-and-a-half-long void seemed almost insurmountable, but "A Little Kiss" did so successfully and with true "Mad Men" style (namely drama, jealousy, whiskey drinking and Don glamour shots). Season four left the fate of the ailing ad agency Sterling Cooper Draper Pryce up in the air.

As I sit in my room writing this, I can't help but feel dejected. I know part of my feelings stem from the dull, rainy weather that I can clearly see out my window a gloom worsened by the book that I just finished reading and now must write about.

BOOKED SOLID: "Bossypants"

Judging a book by its cover has its perils. The humor and wit contained in the pages of Tina Fey's new autobiography, "Bossypants," however, matches up to the ridiculous impression that the book's cover makes. The front cover of the book features Fey's head superimposed on the body of a man with rather hairy arms, which made me chuckle to myself.
