Rugby defends home turf in win

SACHEM FIELD, Oct. 16 -- The Dartmouth rugby team took the field at home against their undefeated New England rivals from the University of Connecticut Saturday, in a match that was desperately needed in order to keep the Big Green's playoff hopes alive.

Sailors capture third straight league title

The Dartmouth sailing team attends more regattas per year than any other team, the logistics of which are daunting even to its capable head coach, Brian Stanford. So, this week, the team breathes new life into its coaching staff with the addition of Katie McDowell as the new assistant coach. McDowell, a 1998 Brown grad, is a five time All American -- four times for the women, and once on the coed squad.

Men's golf fails to meet expectations at Yale Cup

The men's golf team suffered through a tough tournament at Yale's Macdonald Cup Saturday. Hoping to come together and play a solid weekend, the Big Green finished with two rounds defined by consistently mediocre playing. "This shouldn't happen, but in golf it does happen, often out of the blue," said Chaki Kobayashi '06.

Boston XC meet nets more strong team performances

While the top seven male and female runners on the cross country team rested for Pre-Nationals next week in Indiana, the second squads had a strong showing when they raced this past Friday in Boston's Franklin Park at the New England Championships. The men's team placed seventh with 246 points in a field of 48 teams, putting three runners in the top 50 finishers.
